Marion Sandilands is honoured to serve as a member of the Nunavut Human Rights Tribunal. Originally from Montreal, she now lives in Ottawa with her husband and two young children. She is a licensed lawyer in Ontario and Nunavut. In English and French, she practices civil litigation, constitutional, human rights, and administrative law at Conway Baxter Wilson LLP in Ottawa. After her call to the bar, she served as a law clerk to the Honourable Andromache Karakatsanis at the Supreme Court of Canada. She teaches constitutional law at the University of Ottawa, is a Senior Fellow (Constitutional Law) at Section 1, and serves on the Board of the International Commission of Jurists Canada.

Marion is active in her local community. From 2021-2023, she served on the Management Board of Belong Ottawa, an organization dedicated to serving homeless and at-risk adults in downtown Ottawa. Prior to this, she served on the boards of the Bytown Museum and the Ottawa Independent Living Resource Centre.
